Lecrin Valley Properties, Granada, Spain

The Lecrín Valley lies just South of the sensual, historic city of Granada in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, descending towards the Costa Tropical.

Craggy fir tree lined peaks give way to a natural river valley of softer, rolling verdant hills with an ever changing palette of oranges and lemons, pink almond blossom, blood red poppies and olive greens under a vast deep blue sky. Equally beautiful on a crisp Winter's morning as on a shimmering Summer evening.

The Moors named it the Valley of Happiness and built a myriad of water channels or 'acequias' to irrigate the land with the fertile snow melt of the high mountains. These gurgling channels still meander for miles throughout the valley carrying ice cold water through the orange groves.

Lecrin Valley Properties, Granada, Spain

Consisting of less than twenty hamlets and villages, the Lecrín Valley nestles between Granada and the coast, perfectly situated to avoid the extremes of temperature of the city. Cooled by the afternoon river breeze in Summer and enjoying low humidity due to it's elevation.

Lecrín is a rural community where mules can still be seen carrying an assortment of fresh produce. Where you'll be drawn into the 'alegría' of each village's Summer fiesta, flamenco and all..... And where you'll seek out your favourite tree and have a well earned siesta in the intoxicating warmth of the sun.
